ADDITIONAL COURSE INFORMATION:

All attendees will receive an Informant Management Course e-notebook. The e-notebook will include all pertinent and testable data in order of course presentation with a table of contents for each of the four-course Informant Management Course series segments. I do suggest all attendees bring a laptop, notebook, or iPad to review the course e-notebook (or a print-out of the course e-notebook) in preparation for the course examination on Day 3. There is no need to take any notes in this course for the test--all examination topics and answers are provided in the order of presentation of all four course series segments in the course e-notebook. Also Included are all required forms, diagrams and maps used for classroom and field exercises. Additionally, extra forms and diagrams are included in the appendix for use with future Potential Confidential Informants (PCI). These forms and diagrams can also be downloaded for free anytime from the bottom of the Courses Page at orobw.com/courses. All attendees who participate in all practical application exercises and pass the 45-question multiple-choice/true-false open-book examination with a score of 80% or better will receive an Informant Management Course Certificate of Completion the last day of class before being released mid-afternoon. You are welcome to bring your laptop, notebook, iPad and any notes or print-outs you may require to assist you with the open-book examination! Make sure your electronic devices are fully charged on test day--there are not enough outlets or practical access for everyone to be plugged into a wall outlet. The Certificate of Completion will display all four-course segments below your name and 24 educational credit hours on the front. The back of the certificate will list the Learning Objectives, the Terminal Objectives (completed), and Specific Confidential Informant Topics presented in the course.

All attendees will need to show proof of employment (Official Department Credentials) with a federal, state, or municipal law enforcement agency at the beginning of the first day of class. This course is specifically designated for active law enforcement professionals. Prospective attendees who are employed in government: (Insider Threat, Cyber, and Infrastructure Security) positions are authorized to attend this course. Any exceptions to the requirements in this paragraph will need to be approved by the course instructor before registering for the course.

The 3-Day Informant Management Course is an intermediate-to-advanced course all-in-one. The curriculum coincides with what is taught to senior career agents and analysts after initial Academy training in 10 weeks of intermediate-to-advanced combined-courses at the FBI Training Center in Virginia. The application, and in some cases, modification of those new skills into real-world scenarios for detectives, case agents, analysts, and officers to target, recruit, handle and evaluate Confidential Informants, and a whole lot more are the main learning objectives for this course. This course will give you a chance to test some new ideas and build your confidence working informants! There are 15 group/individual exercises across the 3-day training platform--you should want to strive in this course and exchange new ideas. If you are willing to learn a new perspective working Confidential Informants from A to Z, and are going to give 100% participation in all practical application exercises, this is definitely the course for you. There are four practical application interviews of a Potential Confidential Informant (PCI) over days 1 and 2 of the course. Only two attendees will get the opportunity to participate in this event building elicitation and recruitment skills while the rest of the class observes. I would urge all attendees to strive to conduct one of these interviews--you should be campaigning to have one of these interviewing opportunities! For those who are serious about building your craft, message me when you reserve your spot in this course requesting to conduct 1 of the 2 Potential Confidential Informant (PCI) interviews.

This is an interactive course introducing a comprehensive and new strategy to Select, Recruit and Operate Confidential Informants. By the end of the 3-day four-course segment, participants will have a thorough understanding of the following learning objectives:

1. The proactive approach to locating and screening the best Potential Confidential Informant (PCI) candidates for Access, Ability, Willingness, Discretion, 360 Awareness, Availability and Suitability Match to the Specific Informant Blueprint (SIB) prior to officer contact.

2. The utilization of a Recruitment Proposition Diagram (RPD) to develop a successful Confidential Informant (CI) recruitment strategy, assessing potential CI Gains, Losses, Motivations, Reluctance and Rebuttals toward recruitment.

3. The direction of CI evidence and intelligence collection, Contact/Meeting Plans (locations, security protocols-officer/CI safety, contingencies and communication devices), Surveillance Detection, and electronic surveillance (recorders and transmitters).

4. The production of accurately written reports to the investigative file without revealing the identity of the CI, indexing additional CI assessment data and CI evaluation.

The seasoned 20-year veteran will get just as much out of this course as the newly assigned officer, agent, analyst or detective. We cover a large volume of material in this 3-day course. If you pay attention, participate, and stay engaged, there will be no need to study after hours for the open-book course examination. We will be in class daily from 8:00 - 4:30 and an after class networking event will be coordinated on training day #2 at a local establishment for those who want to attend.

There are plenty of eateries and night-time entertainment options in the northwest corridor of Houston, Texas.
